Industrial Visit to CODISSIA Raw Material Exhibition and GD Naidu Museum, Coimbatore

• Shivani Engineering College organized an industrial exposure visit for second- and third-year Mechanical Engineering students to the three-day Raw Material Exhibition conducted by CODISSIA (Coimbatore District Small Industries Association), Coimbatore, from 6 to 8 October 2026.

• The exhibition provided valuable insights into various industrial raw materials, their properties, applications, and significance in modern manufacturing processes. It offered students an opportunity to understand industrial material requirements, emerging technologies, and potential opportunities in the manufacturing sector. Students interacted with company representatives and gained practical knowledge of machining techniques involving ceramics and polymers, enhancing their understanding of advanced manufacturing processes and material applications.

• As part of the visit, the students also visited the GD Naidu Museum in Coimbatore, which showcases engineering innovations, technological advancements, and remarkable inventions. The exhibits inspired students to explore innovative engineering solutions, develop creative thinking, and appreciate the role of technology in industrial development.

• Overall, the industrial visit provided meaningful practical exposure, strengthened students’ technical knowledge, and helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world engineering applications. The visit also encouraged students to develop an innovative mindset and gain a deeper understanding of the evolving needs of the manufacturing industry.
