International Women’s Day Celebration – 2026

Shivani Engineering College celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 on 06 March 2026 in the College Auditorium with great enthusiasm under the inspiring theme “Give to Gain.” The event aimed to recognize the achievements of women and to encourage empowerment, confidence, and leadership among students.

The program began with an invocation, followed by the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge and positivity.

Mrs. A. Karpagam, HoD – Biomedical Engineering, delivered the Welcome Address, warmly welcoming the dignitaries, faculty members, and students present for the celebration.

The celebration was presided over by our respected Principal, Dr. V. Balasubramaniam, whose support and encouragement made the event possible. The event was also graced by our esteemed Dean, Dr. G. Uthayakumaran.

The Chief Guest, Dr. P. Kanimozhi, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Founder and Managing Trustee of Empower Trust, Tiruchirappalli, delivered an inspiring special address. She spoke about women’s empowerment, self-confidence, equality, and the importance of education in shaping the future of women in society. Her speech motivated the students to believe in their abilities and strive for success.

Prior to the main celebration, various competitions such as Drawing, Tamil Essay Writing, Tamil Debate, Singing, Mime, Mono Act, Dance, and other fun events were conducted for the students. The winners of these competitions were recognized and appreciated during the celebration.

The Valedictory Address was delivered by Mr. K. P. Ravi Kumar, HoD – Civil Engineering, who highlighted the importance of respecting and supporting women in every field of life.

The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Miss Jayasree, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, who expressed gratitude to the management, chief guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for making the event a grand success.

The celebration created awareness about the importance of gender equality and inspired everyone to contribute towards building a more inclusive and supportive society.
