• The Rotaract Club of Shivani Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli, organised a humanitarian community service activity on 30th October 2026 at Krish Kaakum Karangal, a home for visually impaired persons at Manigandam, Tiruchirappalli.

• As part of this noble initiative, the students and faculty members collected reusable clothes and monetary contributions from students and staff members of the institution. With the generous support and contributions received, essential food items and refreshments, including biscuits, bread, rice bags, sweets and traditional snacks such as murukku, were distributed to the residents of the home.

• More than 60 visually impaired beneficiaries received the donated materials. The initiative aimed to bring happiness, provide basic necessities and extend a helping hand to those in need.

• The activity highlighted the importance of compassion, generosity, social responsibility and the spirit of sharing among students. It also provided an opportunity for young volunteers to understand the value of community service and contribute meaningfully to society.

• The management, Principal, Vice Principal, Dean, faculty members and Rotaract Club coordinators appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and wholehearted support.

• The initiative truly reflected the motto: "Service Above Self" and reinforced the belief that even a small act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life.
